January - April 2018

January

We went to the zoo as a family in January. There was a fun Dinosaurs in the Desert Exhibit. We had a great time.

  • You were crossing the monkey bars at the park and fell just before I got to you. After I made sure you were okay, I told you it's okay to fall and to just keep practicing. You told me, "I want you to be right by me when I fall." I couldn't help but think of this symbolically and how I will always be there to do just that throughout your life, no matter what trials and difficulties come your way.

February
  • We are in full potty training mode. It seems like we take one step forward and three steps back but we're working on it. You like to tell me what your poop looks like in the toilet. "Mom, my poop looks like an onion!"
  • Eleanor drew a picture of a person. "Mom, I drawed a human! I'm really good a drawing humans!"
  • Your eye looked a little bruised so someone asked you, "What's wrong with your eye?" You, having heard me explain about your eye to curious kids in the past, said, "I was born..." It kind of broke my heart a little but I'm also proud of you for taking the initiative to explain it.
I love this picture of you so much. Your cute smile, your hands by your face, the adorable jacket you're wearing.

Another favorite. Dad gave both me and you flowers for Valentine's Day and he also gave you this necklace, which you love.

April

  • Whenever the babies cry, you sing "I am a Child of God" to them. It's so sweet.
